I keep this blog for friends, family and students in Japan& the U.S.

Since Spring '07, Zen and Taka moved to California full time for Zen's basketball career. I'm in California most of the time right now too. Almost every day I go to help my Grandmom. She was born in 1919. Taka and I also get to work for Uncle Lynn's landscaping company. Santa Cruz, California. As beautiful as ever. However I still feel homesick for Japan~~

Nearing Halloween in Japan

A halloween party at a Beauty Salon in Nishio~

Smoking outside is catching on, thank goodness!
Click on the photo- the pretty
blond-man. Japanese men
can make good looking women!

The cheerleader had never been a cheerleader- so really costumed! The ball player- I don't know if she ever really played, likely not. So nice pair!

A new game. Put nylons onto four? people's heads, the nylons are tied in the middle and you try to pull the nylons off the others. The one remaining with nylon on their head is the winner. Must say, that's rather creative! And honestly entertaining! (A little girl beat the two men and the other girl)
My costume was using my kid's Jr. High School uniform and bag. No skirt thank you- tho High School girl's skirts make good costumes being ridiculously tiny!

Back at home, Naomi cooks up
a storm in our tiny kitchen.

And Sheon decorates our school-
webbing up the place.

Also Sheon and Ischin...
Ischin supervising Sheon's
preparing to paint our small
second classroom. It used
to be Zen's bedroom.

Back in Japan

At my school we had a little get together with some students, managers and family~

We realized these two have been students studying English at my school for at least TWENTY years!!!

The following day at a Temple by a friend's home was a Peaceday~flea market~day of events. Two of these guys in this unique band work for my school too. Oh, and the friend's home happens to be a surfshop- SO the wetsuit garb played a part in the performance.

Ferrets. The new pet for Japanese. However this little guy happens to be the pet of a new friend from Slovacia, and the pet came from the States she told me!

Veronika with... what's-his-name?! xoxoxoxo He had been having an adventure up in the trunk of the tree.

You had to be there~

I kept seeing this yard of pumplins, but my photos don't do justice.

See the bike the skeleton is on?

now click on the photo to get a better look, ok?! xoxoxo

And, no, I didn't try this beer. Looks... too sweet for my taste!
See at the bottom: from "Buffalo Bill's Brewery"

And finally BJ and I got to get together after too many years!
BJ lives a bit of a drive away, but she made it back to Santa Cruz, where we first met almost 27 years? 28 years ago. BJ spent a nice bit of time in Nishio too~ When Sheon was the babe!!!

Autumn in Santa Cruz '08

There's SO much hype over the Presidential debates- rightly so~
Even though Zen can't vote, he's making HIS stand known!!
Double click on Zen's shirt- you can better see what Obama's doing on McCain

And we have to give credit to the makers of the shirt:

Pumpkins galore~ now is this nicely carved or what?

Zen's newest addition to his sneaker collection:
