I keep this blog for friends, family and students in Japan& the U.S.

Since Spring '07, Zen and Taka moved to California full time for Zen's basketball career. I'm in California most of the time right now too. Almost every day I go to help my Grandmom. She was born in 1919. Taka and I also get to work for Uncle Lynn's landscaping company. Santa Cruz, California. As beautiful as ever. However I still feel homesick for Japan~~

In Las Vegas! Some of the ENVIRON

(yes, Zen's #28)
These are some of the scouts which were at the Las Vegas games

A drive through the strip

And a distance away, our hotel~ But the heat...Las Vegas is an outdoor sauna, with no steam. It never felt comfortable.

The buses looked interesting enough.
Yes, "our strip" was Stephanie Ave.
Taka charting our course...or no...also making sure of the times for all of the games!

And then finally it was time to evacuate!!! This hotel below, where the teams and most parents stayed, was overrun by the teams. Very cool to watch them all!

Las Vegas, on the way- LOTS of dry land!!!

Last day in PA with my younger sister Janet

We went to a place called Maple Acres, where we could pay to pick flowers.

I remembered how hard it can be for Janet to make decisions! "Now WHICH flowers should we pick????"
There were so many other plants and THINGS to look at and purchase!

And finally I got one last gorgeous smile out of Janet as she stood with her ZINNEAS!This below was at Janet's home~ along with a pot of basil...and her iced tea~ AND American flag.   A portrait of SUMMER in Pennsylvania!

At Mom's and with My Girlfriends!!!

I got to watch some of the World Cup Soccer~

But better yet, was hanging out with my GIRLFRIENDS!!!!
Amie Scott, from elementary school, and Michelle Calvert from George School, their love means SO MUCH!!!!

In Pennsylvania again "On A Mission" to see my sister healthy.

This is why I went to Pennsylvania~ My dear sister, Janet, who's ten and a half months younger than I, this is a photo the day after being released from being three months in jail. June 24th she got back home. She's here with her new grandchild, by her 16 year old daughter~now mother.
Janet, at 47, is now a grandmother.
Yeah, as you can see in the previous blog below,
Taka, Zen and I had been in Santa Barbara the a few days earlier~
And the tournament, his team won the first 6 games. The last one, they had less power, less physical energy...they had needed some fuel and they could have made it(bananas? protein bars??) The final was lost by not much. They got a very well done 2nd place finish.
We drove home that Sunday evening. I unpacked and repacked to go to Pennsylvania. I would leave the next EARLY am. from Oakland Airport 6am, meaning we had to wake up by 3am Monday morning to leave by 3:30 for an hour and a half drive to Oakland.

From Oakland I flew to Salt Lake City, which I took this photo of. It really did look pretty through this window!  I then flew to JFK, New York City planning to catch a plane to Philadelphia, where I would get my Mom's car from the airport. She had flown out the night before for Montana. She'd stayed behind for Janet while her husband drove with their dog to Montana a week earlier.
Alas, @ NYC my flight had been cancelled. "Wind".
I was rebooked for 27 hours later. 9:15pm the NEXT night. No hotel room offering, nothing.
I was expected to foot all extra costs. With friends help via the 'net I decided to rent a car and drive the 2- 2 1/2 hour drive south to Philadelphia. Tho I had never done it before.
And there was NO "wind" between NYC and Philly. Oh, and the luggage wasn't to be delivered until 2 days later in the middle of the night.

I went to Mom's house, got there 1:30am Monday night. Slept...Janet hadn't answered my earlier phone calls. We had planned that I would stay at her house, but anyway I had Mom's house.
Janet called the next morning and woke me up, Tuesday morning, with a 7am phone call.
Her home:

I went to her house. I always loved her interior decorating. She always took pride in it! She's so Western, so Cowboy...
Mom even got this bike for her to truck around on cause she's not driving now.
Her style and mine has always been so different. She loves American Folk Antiques
I didn't take any photos of Janet yet, she won't let me now. Mom's photo above from a week earlier, is nice to see of her recently. Another day~~

A few days earlier I drove by the house we grew up in, in Ambler, Pennsylvania. The evergreen trees in the far right corner, they had been our Christmas trees 35 years ago. This yard, and the back and side was as large, would take me and Janet three hours to mow. On hot summer days, those were long days! The fireflies at night were awesome though!!! I even saw some at Janet's last night!
And this was our grade school. Blue Bell Elementary School. It was gorgeous to see this, and this area. We've grown up, just like all of the TREES!!! I'll be in Pennsylvania for another week. A short time, but maybe we'll have even better days!
This cute pair of pooches at one stop light were the nicest thing to see today!!!
