I keep this blog for friends, family and students in Japan& the U.S.

Since Spring '07, Zen and Taka moved to California full time for Zen's basketball career. I'm in California most of the time right now too. Almost every day I go to help my Grandmom. She was born in 1919. Taka and I also get to work for Uncle Lynn's landscaping company. Santa Cruz, California. As beautiful as ever. However I still feel homesick for Japan~~

Autumn in Santa Cruz 2010

I was at Uncle Lynn's Landscaping yard, he had me clean out this little green house, and he showed me a couple of plants right by it.

Uncle Lynn asked me to guess what this was...I guessed it...can you?!
CAPERS!!!  ;  )

And then he showed me these...I never knew Poppies grew into these! Lynn told me Zen shouldn't eat lots of Poppies before any physical tests- it'll show up as herioin in his blood stream?! Really?!!

Ahhh and then here I am in my kitchen.
I thought Julie, who visited, was vegetarian- gosh how could I forget, it's her PARTNER ONLY who is! Anyway, I figured out an old recipe I used to make for my kids, but my cookbook is in Japan, MACROBURGERS! And they turned out well enough~ still Julie, the dear, got her meat the next morning for breakfast!

Aussie~Jewel~Julie~in ESCALON and the Redwoods

Julie came back to California! We got to drive her down to Escalon for her week in a workshop there.

It's as amazing as everyone has said.

Whoever the gardner is there, has got to be in heaven

The Coast going South from Santa Cruz is really as amazing as going North to San Francisco

Taka and I took Julie to Henry Cowell State Park to take in the Redwoods

Oh, and Zen and Jewel!!!
